Background

William Warner's unique vision as a landscape architect can be traced to a lifelong passion for the outdoors, combined with years of hands-on experience in all phases of landscape design, installation and maintenance.

At the age of 12, William became the 4th generation of his family to work at Cheviot Hills, their family-owned golf course in north Raleigh.

After graduating from NCSU with a degree in Turfgrass Management, he was employed at Raleigh Country Club and became their Golf Course Superintendent at the age of 24. Later he served in the same capacity at The Widowmaker in South Carolina, where he also managed construction of the new 18-hole course.

Upon returning to Raleigh, William earned an additional degree from NCSU in Horticulture and was Horticulturalist at the State Legislative Building.

Later, while Landscape Superintendent for a large development company in the Triangle, William became a Registered Landscape Contractor with the State of North Carolina. In 1985 he established a design/build landscape company, Innovative Landscapes.

In a desire to expand his business and fulfill a professional vision, William returned to NCSU for Landscape Architecture and became a Licensed Landscape Architect in 1998. At that time, the company became William E. Warner ASLA, LLC.

Today, William's designs grace residential and commercial properties across the Triangle. Two of his projects have received Sir Walter Raleigh Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to the character, environment and appearance of the City of Raleigh.
